German Oceanographic Datacentre (DOD)

The support of the German Research Foundation for oceanographic work is linked to the condition, to supply an 'inventory' of the conducted measurements (CSR = Cruise Summary Reports/ROSCOP) or measured data to the DOD. For this purpose you need to contact the DOD before the expedition. The CSR are written by the chief scientist and provided as a word-file via email attachment to the DOD. The adress is:

The original data medium of the data collection point, a set of station protocols on disk and a set of echo sound data are provided to the Control Station for archive purposes by the ship's officer, independent from the chief scientists notes. The Control Station induces the forwarding to the German Oceanographic Datacentre (DOD). Copies can be order by the DOD.
